What we collect

Only what a newsletter and a members-only dashboard need to work:

• Your email address, to send the newsletter. Nothing else works without it.
• Your name and interests, if you give them: asked once after you subscribe, used to decide what leads your issue.
• Your PRO preferences (role, topics, feeds), if you are a PRO member and set them.
• How you arrived: campaign tags in the link you clicked and the referring site, kept for 7 days.
• Email engagement: opens and clicks, reported by our email provider, so we know which issues landed.

Cookies

Three, all first-party, none used for advertising: abs_attrib credits the right campaign for the link you followed (7 days); abs_session keeps you signed in to PRO (set only at login, readable only by the server, cleared when you sign out); abs_device lets your preferences persist on a device before you have an account. There are no analytics cookies, so there is no consent banner to click through.

Who processes it

We keep the list of processors short, and each one sees only the part it needs. Beehiiv holds the subscriber list and sends the newsletter. Appwrite handles PRO accounts and sign-in, including the password hash, which we never see. Our own server stores PRO preferences and the tracker data.

We do not sell your data, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing. Sponsors receive aggregate numbers, never a list.

Validating your address

When you subscribe we check that your address is well formed and that its domain can receive mail. That check looks up public mail records for the domain only. It does not contact you, and it stores nothing about the lookup.

How long we keep it

Your subscription details stay until you unsubscribe, after which Beehiiv keeps an unsubscribe record so we do not email you again. PRO account data stays for as long as the account exists; delete the account and the preferences tied to it go with it.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from the link at the bottom of any issue, effective immediately. Change your preferences any time under Settings in PRO. To request a copy of what we hold, or ask us to delete it, write to the address below and we will confirm within 30 days. If you are in the UK, EU, or California, your local data rights apply here regardless of where you read from.

Security

Sign-in sessions live in cookies the browser cannot read from JavaScript, and passwords are handled entirely by Appwrite, so they never pass through our application. Traffic is served over TLS. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will say so plainly and promptly.
